Hunting Information/Prices

COSTS

There are no application, license or tag fees and there are no hidden costs. Hunting costs are for the game you desire and $25 per day lodging, if you decide to stay at our hunting cabin, instead of local hotels. Most hunts are 2 day or 5 day, but we can tailor your hunt to your schedule and desired length of stay. Elk cow start at $799 and bulls start at $1500, for exact prices on any of our elk, buffalo or deer, just call us.

All hunts require a deposit of 50%, this reserves your hunt and space for the cabin, guide and such. If you need to cancel for any reason, let us know.

Meat Processing and Taxidermist Costs are separate and are arranged between you and them, should you decide to use them. We work with a couple local businesses that can make processing of the meat, hides and even mounts a simple process. Many of our previous hunters have appreciated the services and have very good experiences with our local business partners, while others wanted to process their own. Choice is yours.

If you would like your hunt or your stay with us documented, let us know. We can take digital pictures or digital video for you. Our guides charge $50 for their time to accompany your hunt.

FIELD DRESSING AND QUARTERING
If you would like to field dress your game or even hike it out with a frame pack, help will be available if you need it. If you would like us to do all the work, no problem that’s what we are here for. We want your hunt to be enjoyed and memorable, so whatever we can do to make your hunt your best ever, you just let us know.

GUNS/ARCHERY

Even though traveling securities have changed dramatically, we are fortunate that the restrictions and rules regarding air travels with guns haven’t changed much in a couple decades. Requirements are a hard gun case with locks, unloaded gun and check in at the travel counter. Ammo can be in the case, BUT NOT in the gun. It’s usually easier to pick up ammo at your final destination and not worry about traveling with it. We recommend locking your gun case with FAA approved locks, so the each airline could unlock the case and check if needed. If you don’t want to travel with your gun, let us know, we could provide one for you. You can hunt with a bow, muzzle loader, riffle or handgun at the ranch.

OUR HUNTING CABIN
A fully equipped kitchen with oven, stove, microwave, pans, utensils and dishware. If you would like to bring your favorite foods or snacks, you are welcome to do so. We try to keep the fridge stocked with refreshments and snacks, fruit and chips on hand also. Beds and bedding for 10 people. Full Bath with large sink, shower and even a washer and dryer. A phone is provided for your use and there is no cost for any of your national calls. Your family or friends can contact you at this phone anytime. The telephone number is posted on the phone in the cabin also. We have a TV, with DVD Player, VCR Player and Satellite Dish. A nice outdoor deck for bar-b-q, lounging or picture taking. It also has a nice mudroom entry, which helps keep the cabin clean. There are many places where you can photograph elk from the cabin and enjoy their majestic bugles, best and safest place is the deck outside the cabin.

COMMUNICATIONS
Cell phones don’t always work out in the hunting areas. They will work on high hills and away from trees. If you want to bring radios to keep in contact with your fellow hunters, feel free. We try to keep some available for safety purposes also. There is a phone in the hunters’ cabin that can be used at your convenience.

WEATHER
Our hunts run from September (fall) through March (winter). It’s best to watch weather reports or call us for weather patterns. December through March is our winter time. Temperatures are usually cooler in the morning and warmer during the day. To best prepare for changing climate, call us and we’ll keep you up to date on weather forecasts.

GEAR
We want your hunt to be comfortable and memorable. If you forget any needed gear, let us know and we’ll do our best to help you out. It’s best to bring extra cloths, but we have a washer and dryer in the hunting cabin, if needed. You might want to pack for both dry and wet (rain) weather.
